Hi ladies,

This will be my last week for leading the check in, can someone please take over, it's super easy!

This is a check in for those of us (or our SO) that are TTC via TPR including donor sperm, donor eggs, donor embryos, gestational carrier, surrogacy or any combination of those. Lurkers are welcome to come in and ask questions or become a part of the check in!

If your status changes and/or you want to be removed please let me know!

Donor Eggs:

Hope all is well with you!
Congratulations on being PUPO!  Will you test or wait for beta?
I love your organization!  I too may have a google doc or two related to egg donation:).  Hope you feel better soon!

Donor Sperm:

Donor Embryos:

How are the meds treating you?  Kindly, I hope!
Just started a PhD program and was wondering what your dissertation topic is.  Mind if I ask?:)

Gestational Carrier:

Congrats on graduating, !

Sure, you can ask! My dissertation topic focuses on the south and the early years of electricity (electricity from invention to the advent of air-conditioning). There's one oddball area of the country in the south - and hence the world - that uses more electricity than any other per capita. My dissertation basically probes why. In a nutshell, the punchline is that there is no one reason "why." Instead there's a bunch of other questions that lead you to some reasonable answers, and still more questions :)

What field will your PhD be in?

AFM: hi, all! Just hanging out over here. We're on a TTC break. We have agreed not to talk about TPR or cycling for a while. It feels nice. But it also feels kind of like we're losing time, too. My therapist suggested a year long break but I can't take that much time off of TTC because of AMA. It would end up being more stressful!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi ladies. I'm sick. :(
Been on the couch all night and day today.

I gave H my goggle spreadsheet of the DEgg info and pricing I've got. The pricing in the US just scares me. It's. So. Much. I'll have to see what he thinks.

Other than that I'm just gonna go cough up some more guck. :(

,  That sounds like an interesting topic...stinks that there's no known cause:(.  Mine will be in Curriculum and Instruction.  I am planning to research effective strategies for engaging elementary school males in literacy classrooms.

Hey Ladies - , sorry to hear you're sick... Glad you've made some progress on the DE search. It is overwhelming for sure!

, good for you for being ok with taking a break. I had a few months here and there to not "think about it" and it really does help!

Here's our update:
{Click here to see more.}7w1d - we heard the heartbeat today!!! It was amazing and surreal...such a gift! RE said everything is measuring perfectly.

I do have a SCH which explains some bleeding/cramping from last week, but she said not to worry and expect to see more bleeding at some point. I guess that is reassuring.

Now I'm trying to decide when to tell my parents...I thought I'd wait til 12 weeks but now I'm not sure I can hold off that long :)

Congrats again on graduating !!!

-your topic sounds super interesting!!! I am super geeky and love reading dissertations on topics! (Well being honest I love reading the discussion parts! lol)

-Good luck sorting all the info out, it can be super overwhelming!!!

-so much yay!!!! Awesome update!!!

Welcome to the check in . Good uck tomorrow!

AFM-Just plugging along on estradiol, aspirin, and a PNV. Lining check next Friday (so nervous because it is the last "check box"), add more meds in after the check, and then we are set to fly out on the 21st and transfer on the 23rd. I am also spending way to much time trying to decide if we should transfer 1 or 2 embies. Like it is consuming all my thoughts!

Honest? I don't think anyone regrets transferring two. I've transferred two of my own and I didn't regret it, even though it didn't work out.

How many frosties did you adopt?

That's what I keep thinking too but then fear sets in as we only have 3 embies and what if something is wrong and we lose both to a "preventable" something. It's all crazy in my head but I suppose that's what IF does to a person!

Thank you for the advice, I do truly appreciate your wisdom and experience.

Okay, so here's my 0.02. With three frosties you either transfer 2 now or 2 the second time. Either way you're transferring 2 at some point!

I say do it. What does your gut say?

To do 2 now. Heart reason-I want to be a mom to a rainbow baby, head reason-because (cart before horse here but) twin toddlers and a newborn sound way more appealing than the potential of a toddler with twin newborns.

I like that reasoning! I say do it.

I mean, HOM pregnancy are kinda scary but twin pregnancies happen all the time. There are a few scary twin risks but nothing like the risks of 3+.
