Back in January we used a PNP for both girls, they shared... never paid attention to the weight limit. It was a tight fit but we only brought one PNP and the hotel didn't have any cribs or PNPs for us to use. They were fine, and it was only a couple nights.
We've transitioned them from cribs since then due to a climbing problem... so last week we just had them in the double bed together, surrounded by a pillow nest, with DS at the foot of their bed. Bedtime was way later than usual and I may have played a movie and turned the lights off... it beat having them scream for an hour, considering we already had housekeeping come to us with noise complaints prior -_-

We are traveling the next few weeks and at my ILs we, they are setting up their crib into a toddler bed. At my parents, they are setting up a twin air mattress, and when we go to a family reunion up north, we will use a regular bed for him. Keeping him in each of these options long enough to fall asleep will be our biggest issue, but that's our struggle at home too. If he would stay in a PnP I would continue to use that.
We still use PnP but he's not 30 lbs yet. There's a small AeroBed with sides good for little kids and some people put pool noodles under sheets on the bed as a sort of toddler rail. I'm sure the PnP would be fine even if he's over 30.
We are traveling for Thanksgiving and I'm nervous about her fitting into a pnp. She is currently under 30 lbs. She still sleeps in one right now at daycare so I really hope she will still fit in one then. Dh's high school friend runs a kids consignment store so we are going to be borrowing one from her. fx!
