The holidays have been fine. I am lucky in that my family is pretty Christmas-friendly in name only, and not actually very Christian. My husband's family is moreso, but it is relatively mild. I love a good Christmas carol, even the super god-y ones.
QOTW: Most of my friends aren't strongly religious, and a couple are fellow atheists. I feel glad - respecting others' beliefs is important, but I find it hard to hold back the eye rolls when someone outwardly attributes everything to a higher power. It isn't a matter of a lack of respect on my part, just a total disconnect - to me, it's like someone believing in the easter bunny or tooth fairy at age 50 or something.
In the next few weeks I'm going to try to post more on this board - I can't promise anything big, but maybe some other prompts to keep us going.
