We went to the ER last night because DD1 had a 104.9 fever. She has a really bad double ear infection. We are switching off Tylenol/Motrin to keep her fever down since it won't stay below 102. Hoping the antibiotics start working.
Oh my goodness - how scary! I hope the meds are helping
HI! I was hardly around last week. Work is insane, and politics & family stuff have me wanting to curl up in a ball and become a hermit. I am trying to pull myself together and get back to business as usual this week.
C's sleep has been pretty bad lately. He's actually had a decent couple weeks as far as sleeping long stretches in his crib at the beginning and end of the night, but he's been up for 1-2 (or more) hours straight MOTN and the most frustrating part is that I can't be the one to get him back down. He's usually hungry by 2-3am so I will nurse, but he won't settle back down to sleep for me so I have to call in MH to rock him back to sleep. It's bizarro and frustrating for both of us. And a lot of times he will fall asleep for MH but won't let him put him back in the crib. So lots of sleeping in the rocking chair for him.
We're going to recommit to doing everything we were told to by the sleep consultant we hired back in the fall, especially the putting him down drowsy but awake - it was working for a while but we've let a lot of it slide over time. Hopefully will see some improvements. We need sleep.

Hi all! I kept meaning to post here last week and never got around to it. I was here reading though! I went to a book conference in Atlanta yesterday. I didn't actually do any of the conference stuff, just the exhibit floor. It was so fun! I met up with some other bloggers. It was a nice kid free day. I think it was the longest I had been away from R. They did great with my H and then with my mom after he went to work.
Nothing else to report. R has been up every hour for the last few nights. I'm going to blame it on the wonder week. Is it the last one?! He's also trying to get 6 teeth at once.
It went well. We don't necessarily have any answers, but we got a lot of support and a plan. We go back in 6 months and will get the next steps of our plan. It was really wonderful just to be understood, be taken seriously, and have them think what we are going through is normal (not that any of this is normal, but that they don't think we are crazy and see this on the regular- so this is something they are well equipped to help with) was so worth it. We got a few new foods to try (with recipes!), we have an epipen, letters for the ER, and they want us to come do an in office food challenge which has me a bit nervous. Haven't scheduled that yet...
They were actually really impressed with all the foods she DOES eat. Usually when they see a list of so many restrictions, the child only has a handful of "safe" foods. But with the questionable advise we got, we went more with give a food until we know there is a problem, so that actually probably worked in our favor.

So big news over here...I got a BFP yesterday! I am going through all of the feelings, but ultimately I am so excited to grow our family. I have already introed on O17, but I will still play with you all, here and on facebook. Another BMB will never be as cool as you anyway.

Got our first unprompted walking today!!!!! And I almost missed it! #thirdkidproblems. She looked like a zombie and I think I startled her into sitting down by screaming "oh my god she's walking!!" I have seriously never been this excited for a kid to walk.
