We had nothing planned for this weekend and ended up invited to spend Saturday night at the in-laws, which meant I did most of the parenting of DD while DH hung out with the dudes- not his fault, just the way things go with his family. DD peed on MIL's couch. I couldn't drink, and DH screwed me over in the game we played. I went to bed early Saturday and was sooo ready to leave the next morning.
Sunday morning, when I was going downstairs to get dressed, I told DH so he could keep an eye on DD and also told him when the last time she went potty, etc. MIL overheard and thought I was giving him instructions for later in the day and asked him, "Oh, are you babysitting DD today?" Excuse me, dads don't babysit, they parent- which thankfully is what DH told her. Ugh.
DH decided to start his diet today instead of 2 weeks from now like he was originally planning. I am so happy for him and 100% supportive, but I think that means I'm not getting my birthday cake on Saturday anymore. We were dieting on my birthday last year so I didn't get a cake, either. I am a little bit bummed even though I know that's selfish.

ourcrazynavylife, I hear you on soda. They have been stocking our free soda machine at work with Fresca and it's so hard to resist getting one with my lunch. Since it ran out last week and I switched to La Croix instead I'm definitely feeling better in the afternoons.

DH just told me he has to go into work early the next 2 days so I have to get up early/leave early so I can do daycare drop off (usually he does it) and he has to work super late on Friday- he won't get home until DD's bedtime, so I'm going to be doing pick up, filling her time until dinner, dinner, and bedtime all by myself, all in a week where I've already been so emotionally exhausted I've been in tears every single day. AWESOME.
I am pretty sure there are other people in his department who do not have small children plus a pregnant wife at home who could be helping with this instead but he's so nice I think he already said he'd do it before he told me.
Had my 29 week appt this morning and got my tdap shot. I must give off some weird vibe that makes Drs think I have a fear of needles because I always get asked if they need to bring in other nurses to help hold me down. Oh wells. Next appt in 2 weeks.
DD has been refusing to wear real shoes, just these slippers my parents got her for Christmas. I think it's because she can put the slippers on by herself. Yesterday, she got yogurt all over them, and I had to wash them. She threw a fit last night because they were not available to wear. Today, I went to Walmart and got her 2 more pairs. I shall be better prepared for next time lol.
Nothing going on this evening. DH is out of town on business so nothing cutesy for me. I'm thinking of making chicken and rice just because I'm tired of eating out and my IL's make some weird shit. I grew up on a much different menu - more homey/pioneer style.
I made a chicken and rice bake, apple crisp, and chocolate covered strawberries for my IL's as a thank you for putting up with us for so long. It was a hit and there is no chicken or rice left. I'm thinking some apple crisp for lunch sounds really delicious.
Nothing really exciting planned today. It's going to be a nice day so we'll go for a walk and hit up the playground while we're out. I've been feeling really sluggish and tired a lot lately. I'm hoping some fresh air and natural vitamin D will do me some good. I've never been an indoor exerciser; I prefer the outdoors. (I get it from my dad. He's climbed Mt. Whitney 20+ times, all 4 sides.)

lilmonk, I didn't start trying to wear DD until she was ~15 months. I got a toddler Tula and loved it but she wasn't crazy about it- probably just because I hadn't been wearing her all along. I got a standard Tula this time and I think I'm going to get an Infantino Mei Tei, too. With DD running around, I think I'm going to need to wear this one a lot more.
Hope you enjoy your Tula! Which design did you get?
