I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend!
DH and I had a great little mini vacation up in the mountains. This was the trip we had been learning about snowshoeing for. We had a couple good days of snowshoeing in the park, and it was a lot of fun! It took me a while to get the rhythm of using the poles, but the shoes themselves were pretty easy. And the mountains were gorgeous! We've decided we want to get our own snowshoes so that we can do it more often.
A big storm did come in on the last day of our trip, so instead of going into the park we stayed in town and went to the winery and some shops. There were some people who still went hiking, but we aren't high risk hikers! I'd rather be safe and warm than risk braving 50mph winds at 10,000 feet just for an extra day of hiking!
How is everyone? Did you do anything special for the long weekend? Any upcoming plans?
Hi all! I'm still here . bonzo2012, I always imagined snowshoeing to be exhausting and awkward. Mini vacays are always the best.
missjenniebean, your LO is a June baby, right? I'm dreading the crawling haha. And I'm so jealous of Puerto Rico, it's on my list.
Not much going on here. E discovered yesterday how to roll and she's been nonstop rolling. It's adorable and annoying and terrifying lol. She also discovered she can pull herself up and stand, so now I'm paranoid to leave her anywhere. Why do they grow so fast? Stop developing as a human being and stay squishy for a bit longer child.
The snowshoeing was definitely awkward at first! There were a few times I tried to pick my foot up and couldn't, only to look down and realize I was standing on the snowshoe with the other foot! I'd love to do more though, it was so much fun and a really affordable winter activity.
missjenniebean, how was Puerto Rico? I've never been but I've heard that it's beautiful! I'd love to go someday.

bonzo2012 that sounds like something I would do. So happy you had a good time!
kaeguri due in June born mid May. We all thought she would walk first. I love watching them develop , it's so wonderful. V fell off the couch the other day bc SO thought she was content with sitting there...luckily our couch isn't that high but I laughed bc he was so upset. Poor guy.
It was beautiful! We plan to go back to go to the mountains. We went to old San Juan.
